NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING AND PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING,          CACHE COUNTY DRAINAGE DISTRICT #6

 

December 30, 2024 at the Lewiston City Offices, 29 S. Main, Lewiston

 

6:00 PM: PUBLIC MEETING

 

The Cache County Drainage District #6 will hold a public meeting on December 30, 2024.

 

Items on the agenda include:

 

Closing out budget for 2024 and review of proposed budget for 2025

Discussion of drainage at 800 S and 800 E

Maintenance

Acquisition of APLOS software--discussion

 

From 7 to 7:30 pm the meeting will move to an open, public hearing.

 

The board meeting will reconvene after the public hearing to close and adopt the budget.

Joint meeting: Cache County Drainage District 6 and 4, 4-11-22

  Joint Meeting, CCDDs #6 and #8   In attendance: Adam Johnson, Robert Barlow, Bill Wright, Dennis Jackason, Jeff, Mark Blair,  JoLynne Lyon and Brandon Allen.      Jeff presented a redrawn map that reflects the natural flow of drainage. It takes in many parcels from District 4 and adds them to District 6. Mark showed board members from both districts where the open and closed drains are and how the water flows during a high water event.   JoLynne asked what would suffer if the districts were unified. Currently there are several administrative units and they are overwhelmed trying to keep up with state requirements.   Adam said the tax levy is $3 per acre and $5 minimum per parcel in District 4. Dennis said District 6’s levy is $2 per acre and $5 minimum.   Adam said the drainage makes sense. His district will lose revenue if the new boundaries are accepted. Minutes, Annexation and Budget public hearings, 12-1-2020

Annexation Hearing In attendance: Brandon, Dennis, JoLynne, Wade Nicholas, Adam Johnson, Troy Karren and Jackie Lilienquist. Brandon introduced the annexation, saying the district is trying to adjust its boundaries after so many propoerties were dropped from the tax roles. Wade Nicholas said his property is being hurt by the drain because when it is full, the pressure causes the water table to rise because the ditch is below the clay layer, and it pushes water through the sandy loam toward his house. He said he understands the ditch needs to be there to drain property in the “middle valley” but it harms him and he does not want to pay taxes. He has been in that property for 4 years. Brandon and JoLynne asked if he is sure he is getting more harm than good from the ditch. Brandon said the ditch has been cleaned a lot since it flooded in 2017.
